Specialty Roofs

Whether you consider them creative or classic, when it comes to other types of roofs (i.e. not asphalt), you’ve got options.

Each option not only has its own distinctive look, but benefits unique to it. That’s where our expertise comes in — you let us know what you’re interested in, and we’ll verify that’s the right choice for your home or guide you to a better option.

Alternative Roofing Options

When it comes to roofing types, there’s more than just asphalt shingles. Consider these alternatives.

Slate Roof Installation

Solid, sturdy, and long-lasting, slate roofing comes in a variety of colors and sizes. We buy our slate roof product direct from quarries in Vermont in order to bring you the highest quality product, free of flaws, and sourced right here in the U.S.

Slate requires the work of a true craftsman and our trained installers are just that — craftsmen. When installing a roof that’s capable of lasting for more than a hundred years, it’s important to choose the right components and contractor in order to maximize the useful life of your roof. A contractor like us.

Metal Roof Installation

You see metal roofs popping up more and more. They stand out. They stand up. And they come with the industry’s longest warranties.

Our crews have a wide array of experience working with all kinds of metal roofing products. From Decra to Metal Sales Standing Seam and Image II Panel, we’ve installed it all. We also have extensive experience working with snow guards for metal roofs and other snow retention systems, something we highly recommend here in Michigan.

Whether you’re interested in standing seam, stone-coated steel, or custom copper accents – or if you have no idea and need someone to explain your options – we have you covered.

Flat Roof Installation

When it comes to flat roofing, it’s important to work with a highly trained installer who’s working with the right products — like us. There are several options to choose from, but not all of them are right for Michigan or residential use, and choosing the wrong ones can get you into a real messy situation.

Our team has experience installing GAF Liberty, CertainTeed Flintlastic, Versico EPDM, and many more.

Synthetic Slate and Shake Installation

Synthetic slate and shake has been around for years, but only one brand has stood the test of time (and class action lawsuits). As a DaVinci Masterpiece contractor, we are one of the few contractors in Michigan with the experience and understanding required for installing synthetic slate and shake.

Cedar Shake and Shingles Installation

Cedar shake and shingles offer an unique look and is natural.

Our Experience Speaks for Itself

We’ve installed all different kinds of roofs. See how our past projects with different roof materials compare to what you’re interested in.

What are the advantages of each specialty roof?

All of the products have their own unique advantages in addition to offering a unique aesthetic that can’t be found with a traditional asphalt shingle roof. A Slate Roof for instance, has been known to last 100 years and beyond. Metal Roofs can add to the efficiency of your home and have the longevity, curb appeal, and green roofing characteristics that other products do not.

What is the cost difference between a specialty roof and an asphalt shingle roof?

Specialty roofs in general are more expensive. Not only is the product more expensive, but the installation generally takes longer and requires the touch of a true craftsman. Most specialty products are more than twice as expensive as an asphalt roof, but over time the benefits can outweigh the additional upfront costs.
